Beck Youth Inventories - Second Edition

The Beck Youth Inventories, Second Edition (BYI-2) is a comprehensive set of self-report questionnaires designed to assess emotional and social functioning in children and adolescents ages 7-18. Developed by Dr. Judith Beck and colleagues, the BYI-2 consists of five distinct inventories that measure different aspects of youth mental health and well-being.

This assessment includes four inventories:
  • Depression (BDI-Y): Measures symptoms of depression including sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest
  • Anxiety (BAI-Y): Assesses worries, fears, and physiological symptoms of anxiety
  • Anger (BANI-Y): Evaluates feelings of anger, hostility, and aggressive behaviors
  • Self-Concept (BSCI-Y): Measures perceptions of competence, self-worth, and personal attributes

Each inventory contains 20 items. The assessment takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Results provide valuable insights into a youth's emotional functioning across multiple domains.
