The Social Responsiveness Scale, Second Edition (SRS-2) is a widely used assessment tool designed to measure the severity of social impairment in individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. Developed by Dr. John Constantino and colleagues, the SRS-2 evaluates social behaviors across multiple domains including social awareness, social cognition, social communication, social motivation, and restricted interests/repetitive behaviors.
This quantitative measure helps identify social difficulties that may interfere with everyday interactions and provides insight into the nature and severity of social challenges. The assessment takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.
